1. It’s been a long half-term
For most schools, the October half term is the longest, which means the kids need a break and parents need a reward for successfully completing all the school runs, laundering uniforms and making packed lunches that get eaten!
It’s a great chance to do things as a family and it’s often quieter than the summer holidays.
2. The weather is often mild enough to still enjoy the outdoors
Would you believe it but the photo below was taken in mid-October at Treloyhan Manor Hotel? Whilst the weather can’t be guaranteed any time of the year, you’ll often find temperatures are at a level where you can still happily enjoy the outdoors.
3. It’s bonfire and fireworks season
Remember, remember the 5th of November? Most of the time October half term falls around Halloween and Bonfire night which means there’s usually a display or two you can catch. Sparklers ready!
4. You’ll get an extra hour in bed
A date for your diary, the clocks go back on Sunday 27 October so that means you’ll get an extra hour in bed and an extra hour of your holiday!
