Our coastal walking breaks include a selection of comfortably timed walks for your enjoyment.
The East Devon coast is designated a World heritage site and it is described geologically as a walk through time. There are dramatic cliff top views and interesting eye-catching features such as sea stacks and tumbling landslides. We’ll cover the stretch from Exmouth to Seaton in 4 stages over 4 days. Each stage is about 7 miles, is predominantly coastal walking, and includes one or two ascents and descents of up 200 metres. Everything is comfortably timed for your enjoyment. Full rambling gear including waterproofs and walking boots are required.
Day 1 : Transport to Exmouth. We walk eastwards along the coast path to Budleigh Salterton via West Down cliffs and then up the west bank of the river Otter to Otterton. Return transport from Otterton.
Day 2 : Transport to Seaton. We follow the coast path westwards to Beer and then to Branscombe Mouth. We detour inland to enjoy the delights of the quaint village of Branscombe before re-joining the coast path for the remainder of our walk to Weston. Return transport from Weston.
Day 3 : We walk from our hotel and follow the coast path up Salcombe Hill to the east of Sidmouth. We enjoy the magnificent views before making inland to Weston and the Donkey Sanctuary. We then re-join the coast path at Dunscombe Cliffs before returning to Sidmouth via the picturesque village of Salcombe Regis and over Salcombe Hill by a different route.
Day 4 : Transport to Otterton. We walk along the east side of the river Otter to the sea and then follow the coast path eastwards via Ladram Bay and High Peak back to Sidmouth.
