Wrap up warm and join us to watch the wintery waves pound the cliffs before we explore the quaint Cornish villages without the hustle and bustle of the busier times of year. Or if you prefer, relax in the pleasant surroundings of the hotel and enjoy delicious Cornish cream teas.

The walks are graded ‘moderate’ because you need a reasonable level of fitness.

Most walks are 6-8 miles, but they are generously timed for your enjoyment.

Your host and walks leader, Arnold Steeds, will guide you through some of Cornwall’s most breath-taking areas.

Our walking weeks are popular with walkers of all ages.

There will be five guided walking days, plus a free day to relax or explore beautiful St Ives, or alternatively, you may wish to choose a salf guided additional walk, from the comprehensive selection available at the hotel.

Full day walk from Gwithian Towans to Portreath. This starts on the dunes on opposite side of St Ives Bay to our hotel, from which there are splendid views across to St Ives. We pass Godrevy Point and Lighthouse and then see one of the best kept secrets in Cornwall, that is the winter seal haul at Sheep Cove. The north cliff walk then takes us to Portreath, now a village and beach resort, but formerly an important port in the days of Cornwall’s mining industry.

On our first full day on the Lizard peninsula we will start at picturesque Mullion Cove and walk south along the undulating cliff tops to Kynance Cove before continuing our way to Lizard Point and Lizard village. Lookout for the Cornish Chough. These can be seen around the Lizard peninsula.

The coast between the Celtic village of Zennor and  St Ives is has some of the most spectacular granite rock formations in the UK.  We travel to Zennor and then enjoy our walk back along the rocky and winding coast path to St Ives at a leisurely pace.

On our second full day on the Lizard peninsula we will start again at Mullion Cove but this time walk North through Poldu Cove, along cliff tops, across the beach at Looe Bar, finishing at Porthleven, a former fishing village with lots of character.

A half day introductory 3 hours walk around St Ives taking in the panoramic viewpoint a Knill’s Monument and Clodgy Point, both of which give different perspectives of St Ives.

Meals: Packed lunches are provided on walking days

Activity Level: Leisurely, 4 days' of walking, average of 6 - 8 miles

"What shall I bring?" we recommend you come prepared for all weathers, regardless of the month you visit. Comfortable walking boots are recommended, as is clothing for wet weather.  (Don’t worry we have a boot room where you can dry your walking gear). A Camera is a must to capture the magnificent views but please leave all of the other details to us.
