Meet one of our guides....

Kim Moore

Kim Moore’s first pamphlet ‘If We Could Speak Like Wolves’ was a winner in the Poetry Business 2012 Pamphlet Competition.  It subsequently went on to be named in the Independent as a ‘Book of the Year’ and was a runner up in the Lakeland Book of the Year Award.  It is currently shortlisted for the Michael Marks Award.  Kim was awarded an Eric Gregory Award in 2011.  She spends half her week as a peripatetic Brass Teacher for Cumbria Music Service and conducts the Barrow Shipyard Junior Band and the other half of the week doing poetry related activities – reading at poetry festivals, leading writing workshops and of course, writing poetry.

Brave the Shave

Jenny at Treloyhan Manor Hotel, recently took part in the Brave the Shave campaign.

Brave the Shave is a fundraising campaign by Macmillian Cancer Support, the aim of the campaign is for people to shave their head to "stand proudly alongside men, women and children with Cancer"

After hearing an advert on the radio, Jenny felt inspried to do something in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support and in memory of her sister, who sadly lost her battle against cancer in 2008.

Jenny would like to thank everyone from hotel guests, to her colleagues both at Treloyhan and the four other sister hotels, for their continued support and encouragement.

So far she has raised £1,238.00.
